Second year first eleven cricketer, right hand middle order batsman, left arm medium pace bowler who opens the attack, safe fielder, Volleyball and Karate player Mohamed Riflan excelled for his alma mater Dammissara Madya Maha Vidyalaya Nattandiya.
Riflan was admitted to Grade One of Dammissara Vidyalaya in 2008 and the then Principal was Mr. Gunasekera and his first class teacher was Mrs. Padmasili. He attended cricket practices under his Physical Training Instructor and PoG Keerthi Jayasekera and got selected to the under 13 team and in the first year he claimed 25 wickets with three five wicket hauls and in the following year representing the under 15 team he claimed 30 wickets with three five wicket hauls and in his second year he captured 49 wickets with two ten wicket hauls and three five wicket hauls and with these performances he was selected to the Puttalam District Team for the Prima Cup.
Playing in the under 17 team in 2018 Dhammissara reached the Quarter Finals and Riflan bagged 46 wickets with five five wicket hauls and in the following year his school was selected to the Best Eight and he took 54 wickets with five five wicket hauls. With these performances under his belt he was selected to the first eleven team and playing in five matches he got 15 scalps.
Last season he bagged 25 wickets with a 10 wicket haul with the best being 11 for 35 and . He was selected to play for the Big Match with their arch rivals Ananda Vidyalaya Chilaw and he was also selected to their Provincial Pace Bowling Squad which consisted of 25 players. His Principal Anil Pushpakumara, Deputy Principal Nilmini Rodrigo, PTI Keerthi Jayasekera, Coaches Nuwan Ruchira, . Rohitha, Chaluka Heshan and L. D. Jayamanne were supportive of him at all times and his father Mohamed Aroos and mother M. S. S. Ransana were always behind him. In addition he played for the Under 13 Inter House Volleyball team for two years and he also took part in Karate under Mr. Peter.
