Ginige and Madurangi clinch WP Table Tennis titles

Chameera Ginige of Sri Jayewardenapura University and Ishara Madurangi of Sri Lanka Port Authority emerged Men’s and Women’s champions at the Western Province (WP) Open Ranking Table Tennis Tournament, which concluded at the S. Thomas’ College Indoor Stadium in Mount Lavinia on Sunday.

Ginige the former Dharmasoka College paddler beat Senura Silva, from Ananda College in the Men’s final while Madurangi, the former National champion defeated Muthumali Priyadharshani of Sri Lanka Navy in the Women’s final.

The results

(Women’s Open final): Ishara Madurangi beat Muthumali Priyadharshani 11-6, 11-9, 11-7.

(Men’s Open final): Chameera Ginige beat Senura Silva 7-11, 11-9, 11-5, 9-11, 11-8.
