Prasanna Indika elected MAF president for third term

The first round of the Army Inter-Regiment Muay Thai Championship was held at Sinha Regiment boxing ring in Ambepussa. The finals will be held in January at the Army Cantonment in Panagoda.

Former national champion in discus and hammer throw Prasanna Indika was elected uncontested again as the President of Mercantile Athletic Federation (MAF) for 2019 and 2020 at their annual general meeting held at Football Federation, Colombo recently.

An old boy of D.S. Senanayake College, Indika pis a Regional Manager of Alliance Insurance Lanka Limited.

He contributed to the uplift of MAF as president in the past two years.

“I have decided to conduct a Colours Award ceremony for those who excelled in Mercantile Services Sports Festival in the last three years. I am expecting fullest support from the members of federation for the Mercantile Services Athletic Meet which will be held next year at Sugathadasa Stadium on a grand scale with foreign countries,” said the MAF president after his election.

Assistant Treasurer: Terrance Sampath (Arpico), and

Media Secretary: Udula Peiris (Lake House).
