A hurricane 153 runs by the captain of Sri Sumangala College Panadura Janidu Inuwara and a fine match bag of 10 for 63 (4/22 and 6/41) by the left arm leg spinner Anuka Jayasinghe guided their alma mater to beat Taxila Central College by an innings and 172 runs in their inter-school first eleven cricket match worked off at Panadura.
Janidu hit sixteen fours and two sixes and faced 182 balls and he was ably supported by a good knock of 91 runs by Mihiranga Fernando who missed a well deserved century and Shanudith Fernando too contributed 52 runs. Seneth Vinuvinu claimed 4 for 81 for the visitors.
Batting first Taxila were all out for 111 runs and in reply Sumangalians made 388 runs and in their second essay visitors were all out for a paltry 105 runs.
