Moratu Vidyalaya under 13 team enter final round

Moratu Vidyalaya has booked a berth in the final round of the all island under 13 division three cricket tournament conducted by Sri Lanka Schools Cricket Association.

In the first round they played four matches and in the second round three matches. They are captained by Vihanga Nimsara Medis and Hirusha Nimsara as his deputy. They are coached by former Panadura Royalist Thilina Silva and the Master in Charge is Chamath Prasanna and their Principal Hemasiri Athaudage is giving all the encouragement to the team.

In their last outing of the second round they beat formidable and more fancied Royal College Colombo by 15 runs on first innings with five wickets intact and the third round will be on a knock-out basis.

Royal College – 185 in 55.3 overs – (Shahan Saranga 63, Nikitha Alwis 52, Didula Damsith 20, Akalanka Fernando 3/38, Vihanga Nimsara Medis 3/38, Hirusha Nimsara 2/32.

Moratu Vidyalaya – 200/5 in 35 overs – (Vihanga Nimsara Medis 98, Deneth Sankalana 38, Akalanka Silva 25, Yasindu Abeywickrama 1/72, Sididu 2/25.
