Sri Lanka will take on Kazakhstan in the second match of the FIBA Asia Cup 2021 Qualifiers window-3 Group ‘F’ fixture at the Isa Town Basketball Arena in Manama, Bahrain, on February 22.
The Lankans would look for an improved performance in this outing after having suffered a 52-111 defeat the hands of the same opponents in the curtain-raiser match.
Sri Lanka were outplayed in the earlier game as they trailed 12-28 at the end of the first quarter and were later down 29-53 at half time.
Sri Lanka are fielding a young and inexperienced outfit for this event and suffered heavy defeats in away matches at the hands of Palestine (102-60) and Jordan (100-45) in February, 2020, during the first window of matches in Group ‘F’.
Sri Lanka were schedule to play Kazakhstan at home in November, but the second window was cancelled because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
