Table leaders Jaffna Stallions will take on second placed Colombo Kings in another Lanka Premier League (LPL) match at MRICS, Hambanthota today.
With an unbeaten record so far Jaffna Stallions is spearheaded by prolific all-rounder Thisara Perera, who is in prime form both with the bat and the ball. He played a couple of match-winning knocks when his team was in a spot of bother to rescue and guide them to victory.
Thisara has been leading the Stallions from the front, which is a very positive sign for their Franchise and also for the National team which will heading to a busy schedule commencing from dawn of next year.
Stallions completely defeated the same opponent in their earlier meeting, which no doubt will enable them to get in to this game in a positive frame of mind.
Apart from Thisara, Pakistani Shoaib Malik and all-rounders Wanindu Hasaranga and Dhananjaya de Silva also chipped in with valuable contributions in their success story so far. With their solid performances they have shown signs of being one of the top contenders for the title.
Colombo Kings led by Angelo Mathews undoubtedly has the best team composition in the competition. The West Indian all-rounder Andre Russell proved what a player he is with that swashbuckling inning a few days ago, establishing several records. Nevertheless, they are a side who could bounce back to destroy any opponent in the fray. They too have shown signs as one of the contenders who could annex this coveted trophy.
Due to playing back to back matches, both teams are not in a position to disclose their final eleven, but will decide today after inspecting the pitch.
With the success of the inaugural Lanka Premier League(LPL), the Sri Lanka Cricket(SLC) is in the process of adding another T-10 Cricket Tournament to their annual Cricketing calendar in February next year.
The SLC initially had planned this window in December this year due to the delay of the LPL, they have rescheduled this T-10 tournament for next year.
