Deyan Risith does Dammissara proud

Sri Lanka Youth Volleyball Player member of the Koswadiya Wijaya and Nattandiya Volleyball Clubs and Coloursman Rajapakse Koralalage Deyan Risith Abhinanayn brought fame and honour to his Alma Mater Dammissara National School Nattandiya.

Deyan was admitted to the Grade One of Janadhipathi Vidyalaya in 2007 and in 2011 he attended Volleyball practices under Mr. Suranga and he was selected to the school under eleven team and represented in the Divisional Tournament and in the same year he shifted to St. Xaviers College Marawila and came under Somasiris Senevirathne and captaining the under 12 team they won the Divisional, Zonal and District and in the All Island DSI Schools Tournament they were un successful.

Then he joined Dammissara Vidyalaya in 2013 and he easily walked into the under 14 team under the coaches Keerthi and Channa Jayasekera respectively.

They won the Divisional and Zonal and in the District they were the Runners Up in the DSI Tournament and again in the under 15 All Island they were the Runners Up and in the under 16 they won the Lower Tournaments and All Island DSI they lost in the Quarter Finals and again in the under 17 All Island they got the third place and in under 18 DSI Tournament they were the Runners Up.

In 2019 DSI and in the All Island they were the Champions and in the same year they were the All Island National School Runners Up.

They were All Island National Schools Under 20 Champions in 2019 and same year they were the Dialog Runners Up. In the All Island 2012 Youth CLub Tournament Nattandiya United emerged as the Champions and in the Dialog Tournament they were the Runners Up. He represented the Sri Lanka Junior Volleyball Team tour of Iran.

His school rewarded with a tour to Malaysia for winning the DSI Cup and he was adjudged as the Best Player. In 2020 too he was selected to tour Iran. But due to Corona the tour was postponed but he is in the Youth Squad.

In addition Deyan did 100, 1500 metres and Putt Shot at the Inter House Sports Meet. His coaches were Nilanga Sanjaya, Chula Thilakarathne and the Deputy Principal Mrs. Nilmini Rodrigo, The Principal Anil Pushpakumara and the PoG Keerthi jayasekera have always supportive of him.

His parents Sudath Munasinghe and Mrs. Sithara Pathinayake are always behind him for his success.
