Sri Lanka Youth Junior Player and Coloursman, School and Provincial Coloursman, Captain of the School Under 20 Volleyball Team Meegamage Yohan Sanuka brought honour and fame to his Alma Mater Dammissara Madya Maha Vidyalaya, Nattandiya.
His first school was Halakadupiti Dammala Vidyalaya Thaniwellegama and when he entered the school in 2006 the Principal was Mrs. Manel Priyanga and his first class teacher was Mrs. Nadeeka and he commenced his Volleyball career at his Village Volleyball Club Thaniwellegama and at the school he attended volleyball practices under Mrs. Nadeeka in the under 12 age group and played for the school team from 2006 to 2014.
In 2014 he shifted to Madampe Senanayake Vidyalaya and he was a unanimous choice as a member of the under 15 team and his school won the Divisional, Zonal, District and Provincial Tournaments and Yohan won Provincial Colours. In the following year he joined Dammissara Madya Maha Vidyalaya Nattandiya and in playing in the under 17 team they came second and in the All Island Schools Tournament were the Runner Up in the DSI All Island Tournament. Then in the same year he played for the under 19 team and his school emerged as the All Island Champions.
Yohan came under the volleyball coaches of the school Keerthi Jayasekera and Channa Jayasekera and in the All Island Schools Tournament they were the Runners Up. With all these performances under his belt he was selected for the Sri Lanka youth Volleyball tour of Myanmar and 24 teams participated and Sri Lanka secured the 9th place and in the following year h was selected for the Sri Lanka Youth Tour of Bahrain and 25 countries participated and Sri Lanka came 10th. In 2018 too his school came second in the All Island Tournament and they clinched DSI Trophy and Yohan was adjudged as the All Island Schools Best Attacker. Same year his school won the Dialog under 22 Championship and in the following year he won the Sri Lanka Youth Colours.
In 2019 All Island Tournament they emerged as Champions and Yohan Captained the team and in the same year in the Dialog under 22 tournament they came second. The success behind Yohan were the two Principals Mr. Sumathipala and later Anil Pushpakumara, Prefect of Games Manel Mrs. Manel Priyanka and the PTI and Coach Keerthi Jayasekera and the coach Channa Jayasekera.
