Sir Henry Steele Olcott Memorial Cricket Tournament in which old boys of eight leading Buddhist schools are taking part has been held annually from 1999 in memory of the founder of these leading Buddhist schools Ananda,Nalanda, Dharmaraja, Dharmasoka, Dharmapala, Maliyadeva, Matara Rahula, and Mahinda Galle.
The Old Boys team of Dharmasoka Vidyalaya, Ambalangoda have so far won eight matches
at the Old Boys Cricket Tournament held annually. Old Nalandians headed by first Sri Lanka Test Cricket Captain, Bandula Warnapura and Jayantha Seneviratne, another former Sri lanka Cricketer took the initiative to inaugurate this tournament
After that representatives of all eight Schools gathered to form this Sports Foundation. Every year the Sir Henry Steele Olcott Memorial Cricket Tournament which is a T/20 tournament has been organized by each Old Boys Association of the eight Schools. Old Boys team of Dharmasoka, Ambalangoda has won eight tournaments so far while Old Mahindians have won six tournament matches. Old Anandians and Old Devans have won three tournaments each. Old Dharmapalians have won two matches while Old Rajans won a solitary match and so far Old Nalandians and Old Rahulians have not won a single match. Lal Ranasinghe of Old Sokians has played in all tournament matches right throughout his career. Among the players who have played over 15 tournament matches are D.D.P.Alwis and Udaya Yatawara, two old Rajans. D.S.P. Tedlal of Old Sokians, Old Anandian, Arjuna Ranatunga, Old Dharmapalian,Oliver Ranasinghe and Old Devan Ranjith Madurusinghe
