K.Ravindran, Community Centre Keeper of Kandy Municipality is a Veteran Soccer Referee who officiated at the final Soccer Match between Golden Stars, Deiyannewela and Highline SC, Dangolla conducted by the Kandy District Football League recently. With this particular match he has refereed over 500 Matches since 1995 when he started his career as a Soccer Referee. In Sri Lanka, Soccer is called a poor man’s game and a Soccer Referee is not much recognized.

Ravindran has officiated in several soccer matches in Kandy, Gampola, Nawalapitiya, Mawanella, Kegalle, Matale , Colombo, Ruwanwella, Ratnapura, Badulla, Hatton, Nuwara Eliya and Vavuniya.

An Old boy of St.Pauls College, Kandy(presently Sri Sumangala) he played Soccer at School level from 1975 to 1980 as Centre Half and after leaving School he started officiating as a Referee, and he wants to continue officiating Soccer matches despite no recognition till he is fit enough to do so.
