Vidusan bowls Jaffna Central to innings win

A fine match bag of 11 for 63 (6/28 and 5/35) by left arm leg spinner T. Vidusan guided his alma mater Jaffna Central College to defeat Sir John Kotelawala Vidyalaya, Dodangaslanda by an innings and three runs in their inter school first eleven tournament cricket match worked off at Jaffna.

Incidently this is the first ever instance that Sir John Kotelawala Vidyalaya visited the Jaffna Peninsula for a tournament encounter.

Taking the first lease visitors were bowled out for 102 runs with Thumos Kithmal scoring 38 runs and in reply Jaffna Centralians scored 219 runs with K. Kiyalanathan making the top score of 40 runs and Gimhan Banuka claimed 5 for 70 runs. In their second essay Kurunegala lads made 114 runs with V. Viyaskanth capturing 4 for 40 runs.

Jaffna Central – 219 in 49.2 overs – (K. Kiyalanathan 40, V. Viyaskanth 37, S. Sarankan 33, A. Kajan 22, B. Indujan 22, Gimhan Banuka 5/70, Chaulaka Daman 3/31.
