Sri Lanka Insurance cricket champs at inaugural quadrangular sports festival

The inaugural quadrangular sports festival organized by the Lake House Sports Club under the patronage of its chairman Krishantha Cooray has become a resounding success with the participation of DFCC bank, Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation, Hilton Hotel and host Lake House.

The cricket tournament was held at the Railways Department grounds where Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation emerged champions beating DFCC bank by 38 runs in the final. Hilton Hotel secured the third place.

Batting first Insurance Corporation scored 83/4 in eight overs. Sachindra Roopasinghe top scored with 32 runs and Ranishka Dilshan added 21 runs. Amith Jayaratne captured 2/10. In contrast DFCC bank was skittled out for 45 runs in seven overs. Chamoda Wickremasinghe scored 12 runs. Mahesh Panagoda (3/11) and Sumith Chandana (2/12) bowled best for winners.

Lake House General Manager Abhaya Amaradasa, Lake house Sports Club Senior Vice President Subash Karunaratne, Lake House Sports Manager Tissa Kumara, Hilton Hotel Housekeeper Rajendra Wattovita, Hilton Sports Secretary Samudra Perera, DFCC Deputy CEO Thimal Perera, DFCC Super Branch Manager Jude Arjuna, DFCC Human Capital head Senali Jayasinghe, Rohitha Amarapala, SL Insurance Manager (Business Development) Rukman Weeraratne, Insurance Cor. Welfare Manager Vipula Ganewatta, Manager (Business Development) Aloka Jayawardena and its Sports President Sugath Liyanage were present at the cricket finals.
