Rugby coloursman Reshan Bandaranayake who led the Trinity College sevens rugby team to win the Cup championship after 42 long years, was awarded the coveted “Rugby Lion” the most prestigious award a sportsman can achieve at Trinity College.
The award took place at the school assembly on Friday and the presentation was made by the sporting principal Andrew Fowler-Watt. Reshan is a top ruggerite like his father Rajiv Bandaranayake. Reshan plays as fullback and wing-three-quarter and entered the senior side in 2017.
He led the school on a coaching tour to New Zealand and won the ‘Best Development Player’ of the Wellington Rugby Academy in New Zealand.
