Friends and family will walk silently behind former St. Anthony’s College and Kandy cricketer Sumedha Arawawela’s hearse when he makes his final journey today.
Sumedha died on Thursday and his body was at Nuwara Malsalawa. His cremation will take place at the Mahiyawa General Cemetery at 3.30 pm. Sumedha played for the Antonians in the late 1980’s and was a good batsman and later played for Old Antonians, Kandy Youth CC, Kandy CC, Galle CC and Wattala CC and was involved in coaching Kandy CC. He gave a big hand to the Kandy District Cricket Association as an administrative officer.
