Sri Lanka Army’s BAS Dilhani finished as the women’s race day one winner at the SLT Speedup Cycle Sawariya yesterday.
Ayesha Madhushani of Sri Lanka Navy and Panchali Sulochana of Sri Lanka Air Force finished as first and second runner-up respectively.
The women’s race started in front of SLT head office, Colombo and travelled through Peliyagoda, Kiribathgoda, Kadawata, Nittambuwa, Warakapola, Polgahawela and reached the finishing point at Kurunegala covering a distance of 90km.
Meanwhile the fourth day of the men’s race started from Kurunegala and finished at Trincomalee.
The riders travelled through Wariyapola, Thambuttegama, Anuradhapura, Medawachchiya, Vavuniya, Kebithigollawa, Morawewa and reached the finishing point at Trincomalee covering a distance of 241km.
The final day of the men’s SLT Speedup Cycle Sawariya will start from Trincomalee today and finish at Dambulla while the women’s race will start from Kurunegala and reach the finish line at Dambulla.
The first-ever competitive cycling event for juniors will also commence today from Dambulla and travel through Habarana, Kekirawa and back to Dambulla.
