A magnificent 101 runs by Kamesh Nirmal of Ananda College, Colombo was the highlight of the drawn Inter-School First Eleven Cricket match against St. Benedict’s College, Kotahena played at Colombo. Anyhow Bens were able to beat formidable Ananda College on first innings by 71 runs.
Kamesh had seventeen hits to the rope and occupied the crease for 161 minutes are faced 132 balls and also he was associated in a third wicket partnership of 129 runs with Moditha Ranatunge, who contributed 53 runs. Earlier Kalana Wijesuriya too scored 76 runs.
Batting first Anandians were all out for 136 runs with Daminda Reshan unbeaten on 56 runs and Maheesh Theekshana claimed 4 for 45 and in reply Bens totalled 207 runs with Kaveesh Jayatilleke scoring 52 runs and in their second essay Anandians bounced back and at stumps they were 276 for 6.
