Singer Finance (Lanka) PLC led by Thushan Weerapperuma, emerged as the new winner, at the 09th edition of the Mercantile Softball Cricket Association Cricket ‘Sixes’ 2018, concluded at Shalika Grounds, Narahenpita January 13.
The final was played in the fading light, which was reduced to 16 balls per team (4x4). Singer Finance batted first and scored 48 for 3 with Rajitha Priyan top scoring with 22. Siam City Cement managed only 34 runs for the loss of 03 wickets with Rajitha Priyan bagging a notable double, with best figures of 2 for 6 for Singer Finance.
Earlier on in the tournament, the 2017 winner, Maliban Biscuits was dethroned by HNB Finance and the 2017 runners-up, Eskimo Fashions lost to Hayleys Group.
