Havies go out favourites against CR

Havelock Sports club will have the upper hand against depleted CR & FC in their Dialog ‘A’ Division League second round rugby match at Havies grounds in Havelock Park. Kick off will be at 6.30 pm.

CH and FC forwards along with their speedy three quarters gave a spectacular performance

against CR and FC in their last outing where they thrashed them by33-10, hence the red shirts will have to come up with a much better performance if they hope to overcome the high riding Havies in their own den at Havelock Park.

Mean while the lads from Havelock Park won against formidable Navy Sports Club 31-20 after a superb performance where their forwards had an out standing game played at Navy SC grounds in Welisara in their last outing and if they play to their full potential then another terrific tussle for supremacy can be expected today.

Any way the unpredictable CR & FC lads are a different kettle of fish hence it won't be a surprise if they pull off a shock win against the Havies today.

CR & FC (Probable Team): Hafiz Noor Adhan, Supun Warnakulasooriya, Charana Chamikara, Shehan Dias, Panduka Angammana, Joel Perera, Mithila Perera, Omalka Guneratne, Harith Bandara and Tharinda Ratwatte, Reeza Rafaideen, Reyhan Silva, Kavindu Perera (captain), Chamod Fernando, Kevin Dixon

Navy- Army game evenly poised

The Sri Lanka Army sports club will go out favourites having a slight edge over Navy sports club in their Dialog ‘A’ Division League rugby second round game today at Navy grounds in Welisara. Kick off will be at 4.00 pm

Army created a major upset last week due to them beating the defending champions Kandy sports club 23-22 in their home grounds at Nittawala Mean while the Navy forwards gave a pathetic display against Havelock sports club last week and will have to come up with a much better performance if they hope to overcome the Soldiers where Army SC are having the edge over the Sailors forwards.

In this ongoing league rugby tournament, the forte of the Army outfit has been their forwards along with their speedy three quarters hence they should come up with another good performance like they did against the Kandy outfit. But if Navy forwards dominate over Army, then they can expect to pull off a surprise victory today.

Army Sports club (Probable Team): Aravinda Karunathilake, N. Ranasinghe, Sugath Nanayakkara, D. Adikaram, Nalan Premanath, P. Kumara, Upul Abeyratne (captain), Danuka Wijethilake, Mohamed Risvi, Ashan Bandara, J. Janaka, Kasun Maduranga, S. Bulathsinhala, M. Nuwan, Gayan Salinda
