CH in superb win over Air Force

Gallant CH and FC outfit scored a superb 29 points (5 tries, 2 conversions) to 22 (4 tries, 1 conversion) win over spirited Air Force Sports Club team in their Dialog ‘A’ Division inter club league rugby tournament second round match played at Air Force grounds in Ratmalana yesterday. Airmen led 17 points to 14 at half time.

After being contained in the first half of the game the CH forwards along with their speedy three quarters led by inspirational captain Rohitha “Chichi” Rajapaksha came up with a sterling display in the second half of the match to out play their counterparts in the loose and mid field.

Speedy full back cum play maker Samuel Maduwantha was a source of inspiration to his entire team-mates with his spectacular runs down the ground and capped a fine performance in the match by scoring two brilliant tries to go along with his two superb conversions in the end even with heavy winds blowing across the field.

For the winning CH and FC team the five tries were scored by full back Samuel Maduwantha (two), hooker Prasath Madushanka (one), Scrum half Sudam Sooriarachchi (one) and fly half Rohitha ‘Chichi” Rajapaksha (one), while the two conversions were fired across by Maduwantha.

Air Force Sports Clubs four tries were scored by scrum half Nuwan Perera, second row forward Thilina Bandara, number eight Saraka Weralla and flanker Yohan Perera one apiece while fly half Gayan Iddamalgoda slotted in the solitary conversion.
