The Sri Lanka Air Force and the Eagles’ Golf Links will be hosting the Commander’s Cup - 2019 annual Golf Tournament, on January 18, 2019 in the picturesque settings of China Bay, close to the harbour city of Trincomalee.
The Championship is organized by the Sri Lanka Air Force under the guidance of the Commander of the Sri Lanka Air Force, Air Marshal Kapila Jayampathy. This golf tournament welcomes more than 70 golfers from Sri Lanka and around the world and enthusiasts of the game. Along with the Commander’s Cup, the golfers will also vie for the Air Marshal Kapila Jayampathy Challenge Trophy, which is awarded to the best serving player from the Tri forces in women’s and mens categories respectively.
This year all participants will be provided with air transport from Colombo to China Bay by the SLAF on an MA-60 aircraft which is operated by Helitours.. The Helitours MA-60 operations have now recommenced on indemnity basis.
The tournament will conclude with a grand awards ceremony on January 19 evening at Marble Beach Resort, Kinniya, Trincomalee.
