The Jaffna District team won the men’s volleyball title in their National-Level group events at the 33rd National Youth Sports Festival held at the Jaffna Central College grounds on November 9 and 10.
The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, National Youth Services Council, and the Sri Lanka Youth Social Federation organised the festival.
The Ratnapura District team clinched the men’s runner-up title. The Colombo women’s team became the champions, while the Kurunegala District team won the runner-up title. The Kegalle men’s and Kalutara women’s teams came in third.
Meanwhile, the men's and women's Beach Volleyball events of the festival were held at Paaravella Beach, Hambantota, where the men’s title was won by the Hambantota District team. The Moneragala District and Kurunegala District teams were placed second and third, respectively.
The Women’s Beach Volleyball title was won by the Kegalle District team. The Hambantota District team secured the runner-up title, while the Kalutara District team won third place.
