Seventeen year old Fahmidha Feroze, a Grade Twelve student of Girls’ High School Kandy in the Maths stream started her school career from Grade One onwards is an outstanding Netball player and a talented Athlete since Grade Four.

She was the Vice-Captain of the Under 15 Netball team in the year 2017 and became the Captain of the Under 15 Netball team in 2018 under the coaching of Suwini de Alwis, and Fahmidha went a long way in representing the School in the International ‘Pesta Bola’ Netball tournament held in Malaysia in 2017 and her team was placed third under her vice-captaincy and she played as a successful Goal Attack and a Goal Shooter throughout the Netball tournaments. She was a member of the under 13 school netball team which qualified for the ‘Super Eight’ at the Milo All Island Netball Tournament in 2016 under the Captaincy of Tharushi Samaratunge and was awarded school colours for this achievement and she was a member of the Under 15 Netball team which was placed second in the All Island ‘EVA’ Netball tournament and she was in the Under 15 team which qualified for the ‘Best Eight’ at the All Island Jenny Greene Memorial Netball Carnival in which she received a merit certificate along with her Under 13 Netball team at the ‘Net Champs’ in the all Island tournament in 2016. She secured a good place in the Provincial as well as Zonal level Netball tournaments for five consecutive Years.

Fahmidha was an Athlete since 2017 under the coaching of Chandana Abeyratne and she performed well and won a merit certificate for Shot Putt in the Zonal level Athletic tournament in 2019 and she participated and achieved a high performance in the Inter-house Sports Meet representing the Lawrence House of the School in Javelin Throw, Shot Putt and Discus throw. As a result of her outstanding performance in the Inter House Sports Meet in 2019 she was awarded the Championship Trophy by the School.

She took a big step in her school career by representing the School in the Hanzhou International Student exchange programme held in China in 2018.

Fahmidha is a bright student who fared well in her G.C.E.(O/L) by obtaining Nine ‘A’s and her ambition is to become a Commercial Pilot She is grateful to her family , the Principal of Girls’ High School, Kandy Malkanthi Abeygunasekera as well as the Coaches of Netball and Athletics and the teachers in charge for their immense support and encouragement for her great success.
