The inaugural Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) Invitational Twenty20 League Cricket Tournament got off to an inauspicious start as both opening matches had to be postponed due to inclement weather at the Pallekele Stadium in Kandy yesterday.

Team Greys were scheduled to meet Team Greens in the curtain-raiser match of the tournament at 2.30 p.m.

However, heavy rain shortly before the commencement of the game delayed the start of the tournament and eventually, both matches were rescheduled for today.

Team Blues were scheduled to take on Team Reds in the second game of the tournament under lights starting at 7.00 p.m.

The tournament has been organised in preparation for the upcoming home series against South Africa as well as for the ICC T20 World Cup in the UAE.
