Yevan David wins karting event in Belgium

Sri Lanka’s Yevan David created history when he won Round One of the 2021 Champions of the Future Karting Race in Genk, Belgium yesterday.

Yevan was among the top 10 karters from the start of the race and eventually made it to the third at the halfway mark of the 10-lap race.

The 13-year-old continued to add pressure on the leaders from lap seven and took the race away from them in the final lap.

He became the first Sri Lankan to win an event in karting in the international arena.
