Sri Lanka All Island Under 17 Schools Karate Poolist for Malaysian Tour, Second Dan Karate Black Belt Holder and Athlete Don Mahagamage Tharindu Vishwajith Sandaruwan brought honour and fame to his school Anurudhdha Maha Vidyalaya Lunuwila He was born on 18th July 2001 and admitted to Vijaya Maha Vidyalaya Chilaw initially in 2007 and his then Principal was Mr. Keerthi and his first class teacher was Mrs. Nirosha. He was there for two years.

In 2009 he was drafted to Dharmarama Maha Vidyalaya Kirimatiyana and in 2010 he participated for the Inter House Sports Meet in the under 9 age group and he won places in 50 and 100 metres and his House Team came first in the 4x100 meters Relay and he took part in the Divisional Meet and could not win a place but in the Relay Event they came first. In the mean time in 2011 his parents Kamal Chandralal and Ajantha Hemamali admitted their son to a Private Karate Academy and he came under Asela Sumith Lasantha.

His first attempt was in 2011 in the under 10 age group at the Puttalam District Karate Do Meet and he swept the board and won Gold Medals for Kata and Kumite. Same year at the NWP Meet he won a Gold in Kumite and a Bronze for Kata and in the following year at the Karate Federation Meet in the under 11 category he won a Gold for Kumite and in the following year at the Puttalam District Meet he won Silver in Kumite and a Bronze in Kata and in the Puttalam District Do Karate Meet he was third in Kumite.

He did not take part in 2014 and 2015 in Sports and in 2014 he joined Anuruddha Vidyalaya Lunuwila and in 2016 he participated for the Inter Schools Provincial Meet and came third in Kumite and his Prefect of Games was Janak Kanchana and the PTI was Mrs. Shashi Prabha. In the All Island Schools Meet he was third in Kumite. In 2017 in the All Island Schools Federation Meet he won Bronzes in Kata and Kumite and he was selected for the All Island Schools under 17 Tour of Malaysia and he could not make it due to financial difficulties.

Then in 2018 in the Karate Federation Provincial Schools Meet he won a Silver in the under 18 and in the All Island Federation Meet too he won a Silver and in the All Island Schools Meet he won a Bronze in Kumite. In the following year taking part in the under 19 age group District Federation Tournament he won a Silver and in the NWP Meet he won a Gold and in the All Island Schools Under 18 he won a Bronze in Kumite. During his Karate career spanning seven years he has won 18 Medals which consists of five Golds, six Silvers and seven Bronzes. His Principal Sajeewa Abeywickrama was always supportive of him to achieve success.
