Sports Ministry allocates Rs. 20m for SLKF

The Sports Ministry has decided to allocate a sum of Rs. 20m to the Sri Lanka Karate Do Federation (SLKF) for their development.

This was after the National Sports Council (NSC) identified karate as a sport in which Sri Lanka could win medals in the international arena. The Sports Ministry has granted these funds for the benefit of those involved with the sport and to improve their facilities.

The SLKF and the Department of Sports Development of the Sports Ministry signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in this regard.

The MoU signing took place in the presence of Sports Minister Namal Rajapaksa at the Sports Ministry between Amal Edirisooriya, Director General (DG), Department of Sports Development and Sisira Kumara, President of the SLKF.
