Bangladesh ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan got past the milestone of 1,000 wickets in recognised cricket games during the first One Day International (ODI) against Sri Lanka in Dhaka on Sunday.
Before the match Shakib had taken 999 wickets in all three formats of his international and domestic cricket career. Shakib took the wicket of Kusal Mendis in the 19th over of the innings to touch the landmark of 1,000 wickets in his career. Shakib finished the match with bowling figures of 10-0-44-1.
Shakib has played 343 matches in the international arena and has taken 569 wickets, 210 in Tests, 267 in ODIs and 92 in T20Is. Shakib has also taken 431 wickets in national league, premier league, Bangladesh Premier League and other franchise- based cricket tournaments around the world. (Agencies)
