Onrey Perera excels for Nugegoda Joes

St. Josephs College Nugegoda new comers to the under 19 Inter School Cricket this year participated in the under 19 Division Three Level Two Cricket Tournament and leading in the first round came up to last 32 teams from the island.

But in the second round they lost to Presidents College Mahara and it was Josephians fifth outing in the tournament and in the first round Shasthralaya Vidyalaya Dehiwala did not turn up for their fixture and in five matches their captain left hand bat, right arm medium pace bowler, all rounder, safe fielder in any position Onrey Perera scored two centuries and his performances was of no avail as they were knocked out in the second round. Onrey scored 322 runs with two centuries at an average of 66.4. They won three matches out of four. In their first round they beat Science College Mount. Lavinia, Defence College Colombo, Lalith Athulathmudali Vidyalaya and lost to Horizon International School.
