The Chess Federation of Sri Lanka (CFSL) is planning to organise the Online Under-16 Girls’ Youth Rapid Chess Championship on May 15 and 16 on the chess.com platform.
According to the Chess Federation President Luxman Wijesuriya, after the successful Under-18 Girls’ Chess Online Championships, they are expected to give a chance for the Under-18 Girls’ for this competition which will be of seven rounds on the time control of 15 minutes +10 seconds increment from move one.
If there are more than 100 players, eight rounds will be held and if more than 200 players, there will be nine rounds. The age limit is considered as January 1, 2021.
The winners will be awarded Gold, Silver, and Bronze Medals and certificates, while the champion will receive a trophy from the CFSL. (D.R)
