15 year old Pulidu Perera, a G.C.E (O/L).student of Dharmaraja College,Kandy is the baby of the first XI cricket team of the college and he started his cricket career in the Cricket Academy of Dharmaraja College headed by Ananda Wijesekera.in the year 2014, at the age of Eight years
Pulidu started training continuously for two years. In the same year he was selected to the Under 13-B team without success but the following year in 2015 in the Cricket season, he came out with a fine performance in batting to score a total of 224 runs under the Captaincy of Vibavith Ehelepola as a member of the Under 13-A team and his highest score being 85 runs scored against Maris Stella College,Negombo. His performance was outstanding in the Division one cricket tournament conducted by the Sri Lanka Schools Cricket Association.
In the year 2018 he led the School Under 13 A Cricket team as a Third year Player and scored more than 175 runs in the season at the Under 13 Division One Cricket tournament, his highest being a half century scored against Kegalu Vidyalaya. In 2019 he scored a total of 228 runs at the Under 17 Cricket tournament and his highest score was against Trinity College a superb knock of 105 runs.
In the year 2020 he did not get an opportunity to perform much due to the Covid – 19 epidemic, but in 2021, he started the cricket season in the Under 19 tournament match against St.Peter’s College,Colombo with a steady performance when he struck 61 with eight fours and one huge six.
Pulidu’s ambition is to do well in studies and continue cricket to come upto Test level in Sri Lanka Cricket and he is thankful to his Coaches, Prefect of Games, Master-in-charge and the Principal of the school for the encouragement given to him from his junior cricket playing days.
