Athletic Nationals from May 20

The 99th National Athletic Championship conducted by Sri Lanka Athletics (SLA) will be held from May 20 to 23 at the Sugathadasa Stadium in Colombo.

“We have not yet decided to change the dates for the nationals and the entries for the meet will close on May 10,” Vice-President, SLA G. L. S. Perera told the Daily News yesterday.

Meanwhile, the Junior National Athletics Championship will be held as scheduled from June 17 to 20 at the Sugathadasa Stadium and entries close on June 1.

“If there is no improvement of the COVID-19 situation in the country, we have already planned a second option for these two events,” Perera added. (D.R)
