The opening ceremony of the inaugural Reha Steel Nuwara Eliya Premier League (NPL) T20 cricket tournament was held on February 14 with the participation of Nuwara Eliya Cricket Association president and Wildlife and Forest Conservation Minister C. B. Ratnayaka as the chief guest at the Green Hills Hotel in Nuwara Eliya. The tournament will be worked off at Radella grounds on February 19.
Five teams representing electoral seats in Nuwara Eliya district, namely Kotmale Kings, Hanguranketha Tasker, Walapane Knight Riders, Maskeliya Sun Rises and Nuwara Eliya Gladiator will battle for the Reha Steel challenge cup at the tournament.
Nuwara Eliya district MP, M. Rameshwaran, NE District Secretary, NE Mayor, Police SSP, captains of the teams, managers and sponsors of the teams were present at the opening ceremony.
