The 22nd Air Force Cycle Race will be flagged off at Air Force Headquarters in Colombo on March 7 to mark the 70th Anniversary of Sri Lanka Air Force in association with Cycling Federation of Sri Lanka (CFSL).
Over 150 cyclists are expected to compete in the Men’s race while the Women’s race will also be held on March 7. The Men’s cycle race was previously held for three days but this time it has been limited to one-day due to the COVID-19 threat.
The Men’s race will start in front of the Air Force Headquarters, at 8.30 a.m. and it will proceed along Wattala, Ja-Ela, Minuwangoda, Divulapitiya, Giriulla, Narammala, Kuliyapitiya, Madampe, Wennappuwa, Kochchikade, Negombo and finish at the 20th Mile Post in Katunayake covering a distance of 179km.
The Women’s race will be flagged off at 8.00 a.m. from the Air Force Base, Ekala and will proceed along Katunayake via Minuwangoda, Divulapitiya, Giriulla, Pannala, Dankotuwa, Kochchikade and Negombo, covering a distance of 76km.
