Sri Lanka youth cap Dilum Sudeera of Richmond College Galle and Karandeniya Central College turned in fine all-round performances in the seven seasons of the Under 19 Division One inter School Cricket (Two day) tournament conducted by Sri Lanka Schools Cricket Association.

Right hand batsman and left arm leg spinner Dilum Sudeera Tillakaratne started school Cricket at Karandeniya Central College under the guidance of his first coach Ajantha Kumara in 2011. He represented the college under 13 teams in three seasons in the years 2011, 2012 and 2013. He scored 220 runs and claimed 25 wickets as skipper in 2013. He was adjudged best bowler of the Inter Central College Cricket tournament in 2013. He scored 310 runs and claimed 35 wickets as a fresher in the inter schools under 19 tournament in 2013/14.

He scored 311 runs and took 35 wickets in the school under 15 tournament in 2014. He was adjudged the best batsman of the Inter Central College Cricket tournament in 2014. He claimed 60 wickets in the inter schools under 19 tournament as a second year player in the season of 2014/15.

He represented the champion Sri Lanka Schools under 15 team on the tour of Malaysia in 2015. He led the school under 15 team, scored 322 runs and claimed 30 wickets in the under 15 tournament in 2015. He was adjudged best player of the tournament of the Inter Central College Cricket tournament in 2015. He led the Galle district Zone 2 and he was deputy skipper Southern province under 15 team in the Prima Champions trophy Inter district and inter provincial tournaments conducted by Sri Lanka Cricket in 2015. He scored 502 runs with a century and claimed 103 wickets in the under 19 tournament in 2015/16. He was picked as best bowler of the under 19 division II inter schools Cricket tournament in the same season.

He represented the college under 17 team in 2016. and represented the champion Southern province under 19 team in the inter provincial two day tournament conducted by Sri Lanka Cricket in 2016. He claimed 29 wickets in five matches and he was the leading wicket taker in the tournament. He scored 630 runs and claimed 112 wickets and he was the best all rounder of the tournament in the under 19 division II inter schools Cricket tournament in 2016/17.

He passed the O/L exam in 2016 and joined Richmond College Galle in 2017 after O/L. He represented the school under 17 team in the same year. He represented the first XI team in 2017/18 and scored 420 runs and captured 56 wickets in the same season.

Dilum Sudeera was selected to the Sri Lanka under 19 team in 2018. He scored 530 runs and took 79 wickets in the season of 2018/19. He claimed 9 wickets in the match against Mahinda College Galle and he was adjudged best bowler in the 114th Lover’s quarrel annual big match in 2019. He scored 180 runs and his best batting performance was 38 runs against Mahanama, Colombo in the season of 2019/20. He claimed 40 wickets with 4 five wicket hauls. His best bowling performance was 7 for 144 runs against St. Sebastian’s Moratuwa. He missed many school matches due to national duty with Sri Lanka under 19’s.

He represented Sri Lanka under 19 team against Australia under 19’s, Pakistan under 19’s, Bangladesh under 19’s, in Tri-nation series (West Indies, England and Sri Lanka) at West Indies and Youth World Cup at South Africa in 2020. He claimed 25 wickets in 15 Youth ODI’s. His best bowling performance was 4 for 34 runs against Australia under 19’s at P. Sara Oval in 2018.

He started club Cricket with Galle CC. He represented Saracens SC in the Major League inter clubs Cricket tournament in the 2020 season and represented SSC in the Major 23 league tournament in 2020.
