Former Dharmaraja College, Kandy and Kandy Sports Club ruggerite Thilina Wihesinghe has been banned for four years after he was tested positive for using banned substances. He was tested on 1 August in 2019.
The disciplinary committee of the Anti-doping agency has found him guilty and accordingly the World Body and the local Body has imposed the ban on him effective from 21 August, 2019 to 20 August 2023.
During this period, he is unable to take part in any sports activity or coaching. Nevertheless, he is capable of making an appeal against his decision. (AN)
