LPL gets final approval

The cricket-loving public will finally have an opportunity to witness an international cricket tournament after the Lanka Premier League (LPL) was granted final approval yesterday, to go ahead with the tournament.

SLC officials met the Health Minister and her officials after which a positive response was granted to carry on with the tournament. However, the tournament will be delayed by a week from the given schedule, and is now set to commence from November 28 and conclude on December 17.

All terms and conditions pertaining to health matters, including overseas players who are quarantined, will be stipulated by the Health Ministry.

Furthermore, all matches will only be played at the Mahinda Rajapaksa International Cricket Stadium in Hambanthota. - (AN)
