Nasnaran Pathiranage Lahiru Keshan of Ratnaloka Vidyalaya Rakwana has shone as an Athlete Volleyball Player and Cricketer . Lahiru’s first school was St. Anthony’s Vidyalaya Rakwana and he was admitted to the Grade One in 2005 and his first teacher was Mrs. Sumithra. He participated in the Inter House Sports Meet and in the under 10 age group he won the 100, 200 metres and long jump and later won the Divisional, Zonal and District and in the Provincial Meet he won the Long Jump Event and his coach was Mr. Tilak and the Principal was Mr. Dharmasena.
In 2010 he joined Ratnaloka Maha Vidyalaya, Rakwana and in his first year he won the under 11 age group participating in the 100 and 200 metre events and 2013 he took up to volleyball which was introduced to his school by Ven. Pussalle Pagngnathilleke Thero. Same year their school won the Divisional and District Tournaments and in the Provincial they were second. In the following year playing in the under 14 they won the Lower Division Tournaments the Provincial and they were the Runners Up in the All Island Tournament. In the All Island DSI Tournament they came fourth. Same year W. J. L. K. Pathirana joined the schools staff and he introduced athletics and in the first year itself Lahiru took part in Discus and Putt Shot and the Assistant coach was Gayan Manawadu.
In the year 2015 he won the All Division and in the Provincial he won the Putt Shot Event with a record and he was awarded a Gold. in Discus throw he came third Again in 2015 in the Provincial Meet he broke his own record in Putt Shot and Discus Competing in the under 19 in 2016 he broke his own record in Discus throw at the Provincial and in the John Tarbet he won Two Golds and in All Island too he won Two Golds and in the Youth Festival Athletic Meet he came first in Discus throw and second in Putt Shot. In 2017 competing in the under 20 age group he won the All Island and John Tarbet setting records in Discus throw. Following year in the Nationals too he came first in both events In 2014 he won in all the meets and in the All Island he won Two Golds in his events. With these performances under his belt he was selected for the South Asian Athletic Meet held in Sri Lanka and won a Silver in Discus throw and came fourth in Putt Shot. In the following year he was second in the All Island and in the John Tarbet he won both events and in the National Open Festival meet he came fourth in both these events.
He toured with the Sri Lanka Junior Athletics team for the Nepal under 20 meet but could not win a medal He was selected for the Sri Jayawardenepura University and awaiting admission. Presently he is in the Sri Lanka National Athletic Pool in 2018 in the Provincial Meet he won Two Golds. In addition to Volleyball and Athletics he captained the School cricket Team in 2018. They won a Gold in the Provincial Tournament and later they were the All Island Champions. He bats left hand and bowls left arm Medium Pace. He was the School Athletic Volleyball and Cricket Captain from under 15 to 20 age groups and won colours for all these three games. His two Principals were Nimal Kariyawasam and Mr. Vidyarathne. His father Sujee Amaraweera and mother Mrs. Niluka Ruklanthi were behind his success.
