Sineth, leading wicket-taker of this season

Sineth Dissanayake, left arm leg spinner of St. Thomas College Matara is the leading wicket taker in the season of the ‘Singer Trophy’ Under 19 Division One inter Schools Cricket (Two day) tournament.

Sineth Sithara Jayathilake Dissanayake claimed 95 wickets for 948 runs (Ave 9.98) in 15 matches. His best performance in an innings was 8 wickets for 19 runs against St. Mary’s College Kegalle and best bowling performance in a match was 11 for 31 runs against the same team. Sineth Dissanayake started school Cricket in 2015. He represented the college under 13 team in 2015 and 2016. He scored more than 400 runs with 3 centuries in two years. He claimed over 50 wickets with 5 five wicket hauls in two seasons. Sineth represented the college under 15 team in 2017 and 2018.

He led the under 15 team in 2018. He scored more than 350 runs and claimed more than 60 wickets in two seasons. He represented the college under 17 team. He claimed 30 wickets with 3 five wicket hauls in 2019.

He represented the college under 19 team and took over 60 wickets with 5 five wicket hauls in under 19 season 2018/19.

He claimed 10-wicket haul in 3 times against Devapathiraja Rathgama (11/ 71), Vidyartha Kandy (10/67) and St. Mary’s Kegalle 11/31) in this 2019/2020 season. He claimed 5 wickets hauls in 8 times against Devapathiraja Rathgama (7/18), Trinity Kandy (5/53), Vidyartha Kandy (6/36), Lumbini Colombo (5/73), Thurstan Colombo (5/61), Zahira Colombo (5/42), Richmond Galle (5/25), St. Mary’s Kegalle (8/19)

St. Thomas College Matara has been qualified to the quarterfinals in the under 19 division One two day tournament. St. Thomas Matara won the first innings against D.S. Senanayake College Colombo in the pre-quarterfinal.
