The Schools ‘A’ Division League Rugby Tournament which was scheduled to resume on October 15 after the completion of the GCE (Advanced Level) examination is likely to be postponed till November, 2020.
The GCE (Advanced Level) exam was scheduled to be held from September 7 to October 2 but due to the prevailing situation in the country due to the Coronavirus epidemic the exam is likely to be put off by at least two weeks which will result in the Schools ‘A’ Division Rugby League been postponed till November said an official of the Sri Lanka Schools Rugby Football Association.
Earlier the ‘A’ Division League Rugby Tournament was to be resumed on October 15 by playing the postponed second week’s matchers between Wesley College and Isipathana College, Royal College and Kingswood College and Dharmaraja College Vs Science College, Mount Lavinia. The second weeks match between St. Joseph’s College and S. Thomas’ College, Mount Lavinia was played on March 11 at Longden Place while the game between Trinity College Kandy and St. Anthony’s College Katugastota was worked off on March 13 at Nittawela. The Peterrite’ Vidyartha match was also played at Nittawela on March 14 before the tournament was halted due
to the outbreak of the Coronavirus epidemic. Now the tournament is likely to go on till first week of December this year as the GCE (Ordinary Level) Exam will be conducted from the second week of December 2020.
