Major Tanesh has rendered yeoman service for CH and FC

Major Tanesh Dias

Major Tanesh Bernard Dias better known as “Tanesh” has rendered yeomen service for his Club, the Gymkhana Club also known as Colombo Hockey and Football Club.

Tanesh is the incumbent General Secretary of this prestigious club while serving as the Rugby convener for CH and FC. He is an indefatigable worker who has rendered his service for the betterment of the club. In his 25-year tenure at the club he has held several executive appointments including the club’s assistant treasurer and exco member from 2004 up to date.

While being in the executive committee he was instrumental in managing the Rugby team, heading the committee, obtaining the all-important sponsors to uplift the standard of rugby

He attended S.Thomas’ Prep School for his primary education later attended S.Thomas’ College, Mount Lavinia to complete his higher education. He is a livewire in both school’s committees upto date. He is also actively involved with the welfare and sharing of knowledge (T&D) in the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force as a Major.

He is a honest, qualified and talented individual heading the Human Resources Department for Sri Lanka Cricket since May 2019, where his main emphasis is on instilling discipline and ensuring proper systems and process are adhered to at all times. Tanesh who is a visionary leader with an ambition of doing greater good for the country, by leading by example is definitely an asset to any organization he serves.

He was honoured and awarded the ‘Most Influential Global Marketing Leaders’ award in 2016 at the Global Marketing Excellence Awards presented by the World Marketing Congress in Mumbai, India.
