Lyceum, Panadura and Good Shepherd Convent overall athletic champions

Panadura Divisional level Overall Championship cup won by Lyceum International School, Panadura at Panadura Inter-school Athletic competitions, held within the Panadura Educational Division.  Here Lasindu Sanawaka Perera, the Best Athlete of Under 18 (boys) at Lyceum International School, Panadura receives the overall championship cup from Panadura Divisional Director of Eduction Thilak de Silva and Kalutara Zonal Education Office’s Development Unit Chief, Mrs. Ruwini Deepani Silva. Lycium International School Panadura collected a total of 186 points and won the overall championship cup, in Panadura Divisional Inter-School Sports Championship organised by the Sports Unit of Panadura Divisional Education office and held at several different school playgrounds, during the last few days. Royal College, Panadura won the Boys’ overall championship with 127 points while Panadura Lyceum was placed second by collecting 124 points. Sri Sumangala Boys’ College, Panadura was placed third for 121 points to be the third winning team.

Good Shepherd Convent, Panadura Girls’ overall athletic championship with a total of 159 points, which was the highest at the Panadura Divisional games this year. Panadura Sumangalian girls won the Runner up cup with 84 points while Panadura Balika was placed third with 79 points.

The following are the most outstanding were honoured and awarded medals, valuable certificates and prizes by the Chief Guest.

Under 12 Best athlete (boy) – Sanka Madhushan Bopearachchi of Panadura Royal College.

Under 12 Best girl athlete – L. Tharushi Parami Silva of St. Johns’ National School, Panadura.

Under 14 best Athlete – S. P. Shanith Yoshith of Panadura Leeds International School.

Under 14 Best Girl Athlete – L. Tharushi Malwindi of Lyceum Int’n school Panadura.

Under 16 Best Boys Athlete – Raswin Sanjay Kareem Panadura Lyceum Int’ school

Under 16 Best Girl Athlete – Vidara Nimsadi Weththasinghe Panadura Balika Vidyalaya.

Under 18 Best Boys Athlete – M. A. Ashen Nethsara – Panadura Sumangala Boys’ NS, Lasindu Sandawaka Perera – Panadura Lyceum.

Under 18 Best Girl Athlete – U. Nisuli Saswindi – Sri Sumangala Vidyalaya Panadura, Savithri Dewmini – Panadura Good Shepherd Convent , P. D. Dilki Shehani Almeda Panadura Good Shepherd Convent.

Under 20 Best Boys Athlete – M. Kavindu Nirod – Panadura Royal College.

Under 20 Best Girl Athlete – L. M. Gavesha Sadewmini – Panadura St. John’s NS, R. Tharushi Thathsarani – Panadura Balika Vidyalaya.
