Bandarawela Central leads in low scoring game

Bandarawela Central College lead St. Joseph’s College Bandarawela by 12 runs on the first innings on the first day of their 16th ‘Battle of the Golds Uva’ annual cricket encounter played at Mahinda Rajapaksa International Cricket Stadium, Hambantota yesterday.

Bandarawela Central won the toss and elected to field first and dismissed St. Joseph’s for 88 in 46.1 overs with Chathum Lakpriya and Yasith Heshan taking three wickets apiece.

Bandarawela Central in reply were 100 for 7 at the close. The match will be continued today on day two.
