Airman Sanju wins first leg

Sanju Dimantha of Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) won the first leg of the 21st Guwan Hamuda Papedi Savariya organised by Sri Lanka Air Force to mark their 69th anniversary.

The first leg was worked off from Colombo to Kandy. Air Marshal Sumangala Dias flagged off the race in front of Air Force Headquarters, Colombo yesterday morning.

Chathura Madushan of Sri Lanka Port Authority and Sampath Weerasinghe of Sri Lanka Army came second and third in the first leg.

The second stage of the race will continue from Kandy to Trincomalee with a distance of 199 kilometers.
