Sapphire House collected 779 points and won the overall championship at the Annual Inter House Sports meet held by Ashoka College at its Playground, Horana, recently, for the 12th consecutive year.
Emerald and Ruby Houses won the Runner-up cup and the third place with 767 points and 727 points respectively.
The Chief Guest at the event was Wing Commander Col. Y. A. B. A. M. Yahampath and the Horana Urban Council Chairman graced the occasion.
Certificates medals and presents for the victorious athletes and players were distributed by staff members with the participation of the sports teachers of the Division.
Championship and runner-up cups were awarded to the winning Houses by the chief guest, Wing Commander Yahampath with the participation of the college's Administrative Director/Principal Rev. Dr. Labugama Naradha thera, HR Manager Amila Aravinda Thisera, sports teacher Indika Wanigarathna and several guests.
The entire programme and the announcements was carried out in the English medium.
The speech delivered by the chief guest in English was really useful for all the sport loving students as well as their parents.
