A fine all-round performance by Kavindu Jayawickrama 4 for 57 and 69 runs and an opening stand of 100 runs with Vidara Fernando 62 runs helped Kalutara Vidyalaya to book a berth in the Quarter Finals of the All Island under 19 division two inter schools cricket tournament conducted by Sri Lanka Schools Cricket Association and played at Jaffna. Vidyalians beat St. Johns College Jaffna on first innings by 206 runs.
Batting first Jaffna Johnians were all out for 188 runs with T Vinodan scoring 67 runs and Crishan Niranga too captured 4 for 33 runs. In reply Kalutara lads were all out for 394 runs. In their second essay at stumps homesters were reeling at 70 for 5.
