Cambrians gain first innings win

The annual inter-school first eleven cricket match between Prince of Wales College and Moratu Vidyalaya ended in a draw at Moratuwa. However Cambrains were able to gain a first innings lead of 76 runs. The significant event was both teams are coached by two Vidyalians Lucky Rogers Fernando (Cambrians) and Prasanna Dissanayake (Vidyalains) respectively.

Batting first Cambrains were all out for 202 runs with Pasindu Pathum scoring 50 runs and Vinura Nipun capturing 5 for 53 and in reply homesters were all out for 126 runs with Kavindu de Mel claiming 5 for 25 and in their second essay Cambrians declared at 118 for 9 and setting a target of 195 for an outright victory and at the close Vidyalains were reeling at 97 for 8 with Rashan Kavishka doing the damage with 4 for 25

Moratuwa Vidyalaya 126 Kavinda de Mel 5/25 and 97/8 Rashan Kavishka 4/25
