Wijewardena Maha Vidyalaya Kiriwathuduwa booked a berth in the second round of the all island Under 13 Division three cricket tournament conducted by Sri Lanka Schools Cricket Association for the singer trophy.
They participated in four matches and won three and one was drawn. Last year too they qualified for the second round. They do not have a proper ground and other necessary facilities. They are coached by Lasantha Hemal and the team is captained by Nishalitha Sandiew and his deputy is the gloveman of the side and highest run getter Gaushitha Maligaspe. Their principal Rohitha Kumara is a tower of strength for them with the assistance of the Master in Charge Marlon Weerasinghe. The parents and the old boys have been very supportive throughout the tournament.
