Sisira Kumara fires 3 under par to snatch victory George Patrick Sisira Kumara snatched an amazing victory from Rajok Amarapadma in the final round of the August Edition of the LECTRA Grand-Prix 2019, firing an exceptional 3 under par 68 on day that the next best score was 73 and Rajok carded a 74.
Sisira Kumara five strokes behind Amarapadma fired a ‘bongo’ with Birdies on the 5th, 6th, 7th whilst Rajok had double bogeys and was 5 over par after the 9th Hole. Sisira shot another
‘Bongo’ - three more Birdies on the trot, in the back-nine on the 14th, 15th, 16th to clinch a sensational victory despite three Bogeys on the 3rd, 10th and 13th to secure a famous win by one stroke in an enthralling final round to the August Grand-Prix.
Sanjeewa too scored a 74 and remained 5 strokes behind the Runner-up to take 3rd place. The rest of the field could not make an impression on the eventual winner Sisira Kumara who will now extend his lead in the LECTRA Grand-Prix standings as at August 2019, qualifying for the WAGR (World Amateur Golf Rankings) monitored by the R&A the governing body of World Golf.
