H. G. Sasindu Sankalpa (Makandura CC) and K. Shashikala Dilshani (Makandura CC) both from Southern Province won the boys’ and girls’ 14km All Island Nestomalt marathon while Ambagasdowa President’s College was adjudged the overall champions when the much anticipated school marathon was worked off in Giriulla on Saturday.

K. Nishaban of Gamini CC (Eastern Province) and R. A. Lahiru Rukshan of Nakkawatta NS (North Western Province) won second and third places in the main event boys’ segment. Southern Province dominated the girls’ main event as all top three places were won by Southerners. M.D. Hashini Madushika of Devapathiraja CC, Galle and Hiruni Dilmini Sudusinghe of Narandeniya NS secured the second and third places respectively in the girls 14km marathon.
M. L. S. Wickremasinghe of Wekada MV representing North Western Province won the boys’ 4km marathon while W. Ayesha Sanduni of Ihala Kadigamuwa MV (North Western Province) emerged first in the girls’ 4km race.
Sahan Devinda of Katukenda Sangabodhi MV (North Western Province) and S. H. M. Chandima Shanuka of President’s College, Ambagasduwa (Uva Province) won the second and third places in the boys’ 4km race.
P. Tharindi Nethmina of Kuliyapitiya CC (North Western Province) and Rashmi Prabodhini Wickremasinghe of Vishaka High School, Badulla (Uva Province) ended up in second and third respectively in the girls’ short marathon.
